Little General Stores Give Back in 2020

At Little General Stores, we’re proud to be able to give back to our local communities. We all know 2020 has been a tough year for a lot of folks. This year, we’ve been able to provide donations to several wonderful organizations across Appalachia.

As part of our annual promotion with WVU Medicine Children’s, we raised $48,000! Coupled with a generous donation from Marc Bulger, we were able to give $60,000 to help fight children’s cancer in our state.

Along with the WVU Medicine Children’s donation, this year alone we have been able to give the following amounts to organizations in West Virginia.

  • $50,000 to the Norma Mae Huggins Endowment Fund at the WVU Cancer Institute. These funds will support clinical cancer research and play a key role in advancing the fight against cancer.
  • $30,000 to the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia. These funds will help provide children and families in our state with resources supporting child welfare, behavioral health, social casework, and advocacy services.
  • $25,000 in Little General Scholarships. Each year, we provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors choosing to continue their education. This year, we handed out 25 $1,000 scholarships to deserving students across the state.
  • $10,000 to WVU Tech. This local university affiliated with West Virginia University has livened up our hometown of Beckley, and we’re proud to support them as they educate the future of our state.

We proudly stand behind these organizations and initiatives that are making such an incredible difference right here at home and across the country. To learn more about our efforts to give back to organizations making a difference, visit https://lgstoreswv.com/community/.
