Little General Stores’ Arby’s Locations Awarded $10,000, Donates Money to Children’s Home Society

The 13 Arby’s restaurants franchised by Little General Stores were recently awarded $10,000 to grant to a nonprofit of their choice from The Arby’s Foundation. Little General’s Arby’s restaurants won a national competition for charitable fundraising by raising more money than any other franchisee in the nation. The organization donated the money to the Children’s Home Society.

“Throughout all large franchisees in the country, the WV locations raised the most funds,” said Josh Weitzman, Assistant Food Service Director at Little General Stores. “The managers this year were extra motivated and that pushed us over the top.” The Sam Black Church, Princeton, Quincy and Pineville locations raised a considerable amount of money and all four locations were in the top 25 franchisees in the country. Some stores held bake sales and raffled off donated gift baskets to raise additional funds for the charity. This year alone, the Arby’s Foundation and Little General Stores have donated $21,000 to Children’s Home Society.

“The contributions raised by Arby’s and Little General mean so much to Children’s Home Society,” said Mary White, CEO of Children’s Home Society. “We have so many needy children and families, it has such an impact.” Children’s Home Society, a nonprofit that serves all 55 counties of West Virginia, uses these funds to help support families facing crises, to fund emergency children shelters and support foster care and adoptive families.
