Little General Stores Celebrates 50 Years of Serving West Virginia
Little General Stores is proud to announce its 50th anniversary of providing convenience, community, and quality service throughout West Virginia and neighboring states.
For high school seniors and their parents, the start of a new year means that the countdown to graduation is on. Students will be making a lot of decisions in regards to their future over the coming months, and finances will certainly play a role in the process.
At Little General Stores, we believe in investing in the future of Appalachia, and that is why we established the Little General Stores Scholarship Program over two decades ago and have donated over $175,000 to students since its inception.
Through this program, we annually award students from across West Virginia a one-time $1,000 scholarship to be used as financial support for their post-graduation plans — whether that be pursuing a certificate program, 2-year or 4-year degree.
Previous recipients have used their scholarship funds for tuition costs, purchasing books and materials needed for their respective programs and room and board fees.
More than 550 students applied last year. See the selected scholarship recipients here.
Are you or do you know a student that should be considered? Great! Fill out the 2023 scholarship application by Friday, February 24, 2023. Any questions about the process or scholarship can be directed to Mindy Pack (mpack@lgstores.com) or Chris Rose (crose@lgstores.com).
We look forward to receiving these applications and wish all students the best in their future endeavors!
