Little General Stores Celebrates 50 Years of Serving West Virginia
Little General Stores is proud to announce its 50th anniversary of providing convenience, community, and quality service throughout West Virginia and neighboring states.
At Little General Stores, we know that West Virginian students are a brilliant bunch. And that’s precisely why, year after year, we continue to support their educational efforts through the Little General Stores Scholarship Program.
For more than two decades, LG’s scholarship program has awarded 20 scholarships per year to high school seniors across the Mountain State pursuing vocational, college, or university programs. Each student receives a one-time $1,000 scholarship to support their educational pursuits.
Previous recipients, like Jack Ernstes, a graduate of University High School in Morgantown, have used the scholarship to assist with purchasing a laptop to support his computer science studies. Others, like Presley Damron, of Logan High School, used the financial support toward her tuition costs. James Green, a River View High School graduate and first-generation college student, used his scholarship to support his bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Hear directly from previous recipients about their experiences in this LG Student Spotlight!
For students, one scholarship can go a long way when it comes to purchasing necessary materials, like equipment, textbooks, and tools. Through this program, it’s our goal to ease their financial burden and stress so they can focus on — and enjoy — their studies.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of inspiring young West Virginians, and we could not be more proud of their ethic, resilience, and determination. Will you be among the next class of recipients in this year’s scholarship program? There’s only one way to find out!
