4 Ways to Get Ready for the Mountaineer Season

The autumn season is upon us! For a lot of folks, this time of year brings pumpkins, decorations, and get-togethers. While those things are wonderful to indulge in, for many of us, the big thing to look forward to is FOOTBALL SEASON! With our favorite games right around the corner, it is time to get ourselves prepared to take the whole experience in. Below is a list of 4 things you can do to get ready for this year’s football season.

1. You can’t have too much charcoal.

Even though the air has a little bite to it this time of year, grilling out before the ball game is a long-standing tradition that shouldn’t be broken. If you’re grilling on a gas grill, be sure to have a backup tank of propane in the event that you run out. If you prefer a charcoal grill, make sure you stock up on charcoal beyond what many would consider necessary to make sure your supply can carry you through the whole season. You’ll be thanking yourself by the time the playoffs come around!

2. Keep fresh batteries in the TV remote.

One thing that is sure to derail your game-viewing experience is if your television remote dies. You want to avoid this at all costs! It is as easy as a quick trip to your local Little General to stock up on batteries and make sure that when you go to adjust the volume so you can better hear the crash of the pads, IT WORKS!

3. Dust off your jerseys.

If you don’t get the chance to wear your favorite jerseys year round, now is the time to get them out of the closet, dust them off, and sport them once again! You don’t have to just wear them during the games. If you’re walking out to get the newspaper in the morning, have it on. If you’re taking the dog for a stroll, have it on. If you’re stopping at Little General to fill up on gas, HAVE IT ON! It is important to show your love and support of your favorite team on and off the couch!

4. Stock up on snacks.

Football and your favorite snacks go hand in hand. You’ve done a great job hitting the gym and staying really active over the summer. Now it’s time to indulge just a little bit! Find a great recipe for some buffalo chicken dip or start a crockpot full of barbecue smokies! Snacks are to football what mud is to the Hatfield-McCoy trails!

Now that we’ve covered a few of the essential things you should take care of before getting into football season, you should be pretty set to sit back, relax (unless your team is losing) and enjoy one of the greatest games on earth!
